THE 2-HOUR 15-MINUTE DRIVE FROM OKC: NORTHWEST EXPRESSWAY TO THE DUNES
From Oklahoma City, follow OK-3 W (Northwest Expressway) through Okarche, Kingfisher, and Watonga, then continue northwest by Seiling and Chester toward Waynoka. Another option is I-40 W to US-281 N through Geary and Watonga. The trip is about 145 miles and 2 hours 15 minutes.
Park a sedan or SUV at Duner's Hut, 131 William Ave #15B, Waynoka, OK 73860. Pick up a Polaris RZR XP 1000, XP4 1000, Pro S, or Pro S4; helmets and goggles are included, and the RZRs have full doors with a metal frame and plastic skin. Ride straight from our shop on Waynoka's town streets. Just stay off the main highway and Sahara Drive, and take the sand trail to the park.
Watonga and Seiling are route stops to consider.
SATURDAY DAY TRIP VS. OVERNIGHT STAY & RIDE FROM OKC
Leave Oklahoma City in the morning, reach Waynoka in about 2 hours 15 minutes, and choose a 2-hour intro ride from $349, a 4-hour rental, or a 60-minute guided tour before heading home for dinner.

LAKE DRAPER RED DIRT VS. 1,600 ACRES OF OPEN SAND
Oklahoma City riders comparing local red-dirt trails such as Lake Stanley Draper with a dune day will find a different landscape at Little Sahara: 1,600 acres of open sand dunes reaching up to 75 feet.
Duner's Hut rents multi-passenger Polaris RZR side-by-sides, not single-rider quads: XP 1000 and Pro S models seat two, while XP4 1000 and Pro S4 models seat four. Each rental includes helmets and goggles.
GLOSS MOUNTAIN STOPS & LITTLE SAHARA EVENTS FROM OKC
Gloss Mountain State Park near Fairview is an optional side trip about 30 minutes off the route via US-412.
